Visiting Artists
Installation by visiting artist Sarah K. Kaufman (2018).
Hands On Experience
Visiting artists teach students through demonstrations and shared experiences, elevating their knowledge, insight, and skills and adding an invaluable dimension to the Visual Arts pedagogy. The visiting artists engage with students, faculty, and the Bowdoin community through various formats, including public talks, exhibitions, classroom visits and critiques, workshops, shared meals, and more.
The faculty invites well-known artists to exhibit their work on campus. In addition to presenting their work, visiting artists also teach students and expose them to a variety of new techniques and concepts in art. These opportunities are often hands-on and students create artworks with assistance from the visiting artists.
